Energy as Alien

In collaboration with my colleague on the Alien Energy project, Brit Ross Winthereik, I have been delighted to be included in the Land Art Generator Initiative, LAGI 2014 book. Our essay explores the concept of the ‘alien’ and how it might help us understand new energy infrastructure.

newenergies_coverLAGI is an art-architecture competition, held in 2014 in Copenhagen, aims to imagine the design and construction of public art installations that uniquely combine aesthetics with utility-scale clean energy generation. It was held in collaboration with our research cluster Energy Futures at the IT University of Copenhagen during 2014.

The book New Energies: Land Art Generator Initiative, Copenhagen accompanies the competition, and features a selection of the best entries from architects and designers around the world, alongside a series of thought-provoking essays. We are delighted to have our thoughts and ideas from our research included.
