‘Stormpunk islands’ is a speculative climate fiction short story, published online in The Climate Action Almanac by MIT Press along with the Centre for Science and the Imagination, Arizona State University. The story is based on my collaborations and ethnography in Orkney, Scotland, but the characters and setting is entirely fictional.
The almanac features many legendary authors and scholars, from Kim Stanley Robinson to Libia Brenda, who remain optimistic about the future. The book was edited by Joey Eschrich and Ed Finn.
You can read the almanac for free online. MIT Press will be releasing the published book version shortly.
