One day ‘Speculative Futures’ Writing Workshop for UN WIPO, World Intellectual Property Organisation, in Geneva, which was organised as part of a wider UNESCO futures project.

Drop me a message if you are interested in me running writing workshops at your research centre.
Here, I had the opportunity to spend a day with a very interdisciplinary group of UN people who imagined wrote speculative futures, based on their expertise and empirical evidence, with real panache.
I created the writing workshop based on my regular Speculative Futures writing workshop which I run for researchers all over the world. The workshops are intended to be a supportive place for participants to generate speculative writing, using techniques drawn from literature and prose.
It draws on calls from philosophers of technoscience such as Donna Haraway and Isabelle Stengers for ‘Speculative Fabulation’ as way to create worlds. Participants explore how the literary choices they make alter the speculative worlds they write and publish. What futures might be made otherwise through words?
