Imagining how the journey will extend helps to form a distinctive sense of liminality and arrival, particularly when a journey is long one and a sense of arrival is diffuse. For example, a holiday as a journey may contain many journeys. An internship, or secondment may have a similar blurred sense of arrival and travel. Travel imaginings might be aided through maps and timetables, guides and plans.
